Representative Donald McEachin (D-VA-04) seeks a Constituent Services Representative for his office in Richmond, Virginia. Responsibilities include working to build relationships on the Congressman's behalf with local elected officials and community leaders; understands and reports to senior staff the changing dynamics (and issues) in the district, provides feedback on opportunities in each locality for the Congressman to connect with con... stituents; and serves as a presence in the community in the Congressman's absence. The position requires work on nights and weekends and will include driving for the Congressman. Responsibilities also include managing a small casework portfolio which would require tasks including, but not limited to answering casework correspondence, verbal, and written communications with constituents; acting as liaison with federal agencies and constituents; office administrative responsibilities and other duties important to serving the people of the congressional district.
Candidates must be a self-starter, hardworking, highly dependable, organized, as well as possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work quickly under pressure. Good judgment, strong customer service skills, and a passion for public service are required. Virginia ties are a plus.
